Paula is our favorite Brit! Originally from England and now a US citizen, Paula truly is a citizen of the world; she has visited, lived and worked in more countries than we can count.
As a Colorado resident, she soon found Zoology and first became a volunteer and then quickly became a valued employee. After some time though, wanderlust called her to Greece where she volunteered at an animal sanctuary that rescued dogs, donkeys and horses, cats, and goats where she got real-world experience with the plights of many island animals in a far different culture than the US. When her time there ended, she returned to England to spend time with her family. While in England, she volunteered with social justice organizations and worked on a sailboat. We enjoyed watching her exploits from afar but when she returned to Colorado at the beginning of the year, we were delighted when she accepted an immediate job offer!
Working at Zoology as an animal care technician, Paula’s contribution is immeasurable. She has a special knack for connecting with the animals, a quiet, empathetic way she moves that immediately puts the animals at ease; even the most tentative animals have trust in her. Zoey our LGD has especially thrived with Paula's attention and patience. And then there is Sid the Sheep - hilariously, Paula is very much in love with Sid and he returns that love in spades!
