Meet Animal Care Technician and Tour Guide, Andy! Hailing from the Chicago area, Andy has been a Colorado transplant for 2.5 years now. While initially starting college with the intention of becoming a History teacher, Andy soon realized the time was right to pursue a long-held dream of working in the field of animal behavior. Upon graduation with a degree in psychology, Andy traveled to South Africa to volunteer at the Glen Afric Country Lodge. During his month stay there, Andy gained valuable experience caring for Sanctuary animals such as elephants and zebras. His daily tasks included cleaning of habitats, feeding, animal enrichment, grounds maintenance.
Once back in the USA, and moving to join family living in Colorado, Andy wanted to gain additional experience caring for as many species as he could and that is how he landed at Zoology Foundation. Andy has gained a wide range of experience with a multitude of animals in which to learn about differing husbandry and species behaviors.
If you come to Zoology for a tour, Andy will be your Tour Guide. Bringing fun stories, science-based knowledge, and great humor, Andy is a natural ambassador for Zoology Foundation!
