Jared joined our staff almost a year ago, eager to work with animals and be outside! He is the quintessential “Army brat”, having lived in Iowa, Georgia, Florida and now, Colorado. He is a student at Pikes Peak State College, having already earned a degree in Fire Science and currently he is studying to be an EMT.
Jared joining our staff has been a complete delight as he is one of the most genuine, kind souls you will ever meet. He has a wonderful, natural soft feel with the animals and despite his height, the animals all respond positively to his touch. He also keeps the staff entertained, that is for sure! The joke around Zoology is asking, who has a bigger personality, Jared or our precocious young goat, Captain Tuttle?
Early on in his time here, Jared took on the challenge of reviving our lost bee colony due to a devastating winter storm. He travelled to Canon City to take classes from our bee guru, soaking in a tremendous amount of information! Under Jared’s dedicated care, the new bee colony is not only thriving but expanding!
