Rounding out our Staff Spotlights is Megan, who joined the team in May. Hilariously, Megan hooked us while interviewing, not just with her skill set but also by talking about being a “corn pollinator” in Illinois. We just had to hear more about that unusual job!
Coming to Colorado by way of Missouri, Megan has always known that working with animals would be in her future. To make that a sustainable reality, Megan is studying Zookeeping at Pikes Peak State College. Here at Zoology, Megan has diversified her animal care experience but for sure has an affinity for all cows and Taco, one of our Zoology cats. She is enjoying adding her ideas to our current enrichment protocols as well as honing her animal training skills.
Megan will need to complete several internships before graduating college and has plans to complete at least one of those working at a refuge in Africa. Her hopes upon graduation currently are to either work at either a zoo or a rehabilitation center. We are so happy to have Megan part of our dedicated team!
